Generally and increasingly warm weather is expected through mid
week. Afternoon and evening thunderstorms are possible over the
mountains Wednesday and Thursday in the Sierra. Late next week
continues to show chances for rain and snow travel impacts.

best potential for isolated thunderstorms in the Sierra south

-Cooling trend returns with chances of showers in the
mountains, foothills, and northern Sacramento Valley.
-Isolated mountain thunderstorms possible with breezy onshore
winds.
-Snow levels generally above pass levels on Friday then
lowering on Saturday into Sunday, with light high elevation
snowfall currently expected, though exact details remain
uncertain at this point.

I-80 with chances extending farther into the Central Valley.

Scattered low clouds are leading to isolated MVFR conditions
over the northern San Joaquin Valley this afternoon, but should
dissapate around 23Z. Clear skies are being observed elsewhere.
Gusty north winds will gust 15 to 20 kts around the northern
Sacramento Valley (KRDD, KRBL) until 23Z and similarly through the
northern San Joaquin Valley. Elsehwere, winds of 12 kts or less
expected.
